Bethan Riach

I have been practicing yoga for 20 years and became a qualified British Wheel of Yoga Teacher in 2009 at The Life Centre (now Yogacampus) in London with their brilliant team of teachers. I have practised and studied many styles of yoga, including Hatha, Ashtanga, Dynamic Flow and Viniyoga. I have had the opportunity to deepen my understanding of Ashtanga under the guidance of John and Lucy Scott in New Zealand, Richard Freeman in Colorado, David Swenson and Nancy Gilgoff in Edinburgh and Oxford, and Christopher Gladwell in Bristol. I have studied Viniyoga with Paul Harvey in Bristol – all of whom have inspired, encouraged and informed my practice.

For the last 5 years I have been playing in Tai Chi forms, which are a deeply grounding and strengthening influence on my yoga and teaching. I am currently studying The ITM Alexander Technique as part of a four-year teacher-training course, which informs my teaching in terms of thinking constructively about how we move to enable efficiency and ease in our practice.

By engaging with the process of our practice, instead of worrying about where we end up we can continually deepen…
