Mel Skinner

Mel Skinner

Mel believes yoga is a political, social, physical and spiritual act, and that right now the gift yoga has to offer is deep healing, rest and transformation. Mel loves to teach yoga as a gift to be received, and feels that yoga is an empowering practice for all regardless of physical ability or experience

Committed to developing her own knowledge and study, Mel has completed the Yoga Alliance diploma level (500hour) teacher training, as well as specialisms in vinyasa flow, pregnancy yoga, well-woman yoga therapy, yoga nidra, and restorative yoga. Mel has a firm respect for ALL types of yoga and practices, but has found her home in more subtle based movement, breath work and yoga nidra, and believes that ‘advanced’ yoga requires less movement and more stillness

Mel’s latest project is Rest Is Radical, a project which aims to help individuals and groups to not only change their own lives, but transform the world around them. She is delighted to be offering a class to embody the principles of radical rest in the special welcoming space of Yogasara.
